At about 9:40 I turned on my laptop after finish washing my face. A talk to my family with a cupcake and a glass of milk as breakfast by Skype is a nice beginning of today. My brother lost his wallet because a stupid reason, he left his wallet in the basket of his scooter. After listening to my mom complaining about my brother, I checked my hotmail and replied my presentation partner’s e-mail about the click we are going to use in the intercultural communication course. Then, I learned a word of a day, “concubinage”, through the e-mail sent by Oxford online dictionary. According to the e-mail, it means the practice of keeping a concubine.
I started to review the Mutz article at about 10:30 in order to remember some points to discuss with Sadie at 4:00 pm. The Google scholar and e-journals on the UF library’s website are great resources to find related essays about my research. Confused by the article, I tried to find something interesting about online shopping, so I went to YouTube. Here is an EBay commercial that I understood American sense of humor at the end of the video.
The American Eagle’s free shipping on every footwear interested me because I‘ve always want to buy it’s warm&fuzzy boots. But I was worried about the size wouldn’t be fitted on mine since I can’t try it. After browsing some items I decided to move them to my wish list and buy them next time.
I listened to music through laptop by windows media while doing the assignment. When browsing BBC News website, I found an interesting old news describing about how much we spend on our loved one on Valentine’s day and the soaring price of roses. This makes me think of the Valentine’s day few years ago that my Dad showed up at the front door of our house and handed my mom a big bouquet he ordered by phone. I’m glad their love still strong even they are both at the midlife.
Sadie and I had a discussion about our presentation this afternoon and shared our idea and materials we found by facebook and e-mail. We found something interesting on the YouTube. I received a phone call by my friend who studies at the University of Pittsburgh saying she is thinking about to visit me during spring break. At about 6:00 pm, I checked my Starbucks card balance by IPod Touch through Wi-Fi and had a grande frappuccino before I went home. I turned on the radio kiss 1053 while I was driving. In order to solve the lack of Statistic knowledge, I ordered a Chinese SPSS textbook online through a Taiwanese book shop called books.com planning to ask my mom to send this book to United State for me.
I talked on MSN with my friend who is in Japan after browsed the most famous Bulletin Board System, PTT, in Taiwan. We shared some ghost stories we saw on PTT since the Halloween is coming. I laid on the bed watching movie, Joy Luck Club through PPStream after taking shower, I started to think how to write my media diary on the wordpress blog. What a tiring day!
If you want to buy shoes or slippers, check out Zappos (http://www.zappos.com/). It is great — I am speaking from a LOT of personal experience. You can return any shoes for free — no shipping charges!
For some reason, I really enjoyed this: “At about 6:00 pm, I checked my Starbucks card balance by IPod Touch through Wi-Fi and had a grande frappuccino before I went home.” I think I liked it b/c you checked whether you had money on the card.
Thanks for the recommendation!! When I was in Taiwan, my mom and I always like to try the shoes on at department store and search them through the Yahoo onIine store (beacuse they are usually cheaper then those in the department store). And I really appreciate that Apple provides this Starbucks card app, because it is really embarressing to find out that there is no enough money when I am paying!!
